We decided for a couple of reasons to use some of the left over floor patch panels from an earlier repair to make little pieces to replace the bad metal that we cut out. We have the lower door patch panels here in stock and could have very easily used one for this repair. However the damage wasn’t that bad and we wanted to demonstrate that you can cut pieces from other parts to make a perfectly good repair, and save yourself a little money to boot!!

A neat little trick that we use to make sure that both the surface of the patch and the surface of the doors are even, is to use a magnet long enough to span the entire work area. In this case it was a bullet level, but it could just as easily
