This 1970 short Fleetside Chevy belongs to John DeMore. It originally was a plain Jane 6 cylinder, with an automatic transmission, however John replaced that set up with a rebuilt 396 big block bored .30 over, rebuilt Turbo 400, 12 bolt possi 3.73 rear end. The sheet metal that was replaced in it was all original GM from donor trucks. He also has installed a 5-lug disk conversion, lowered it 2 1/2" in the front, and 5" in rear. Jon has ditched the stock gas tank in favor for one of Classic Heartbeat's, Poly Blazer Tank Assemblies, and installed a tilt steering colum and tach. for convenience. The truck has all new rubber and weather-strip throughout. The drive train and paint work was all done by John in his driveway and single car garage. It just goes to show you that you don't have to have a big fancy shop to build a beautiful truck like this one. Great Job John!!!
