looking for a truck

my son has decided he wants a truck for his 16th birthday (depends on his grades depends on if he gets it)
We looked at a 1960 apache yesterday (its been on craigslist in tacoma) but it was a basket case Rust all over & floor boards were gone, not a spot on the truck that didnt have some sort of cancer on it).

he decided that he wants a 60's style chevy pick up. no matter what year it is, he liked his dads 67 & then he liked the 60 we looked at yesterday.

he cant afford much (heck hes only currenly 15) & we will help with some but not much.

Anyone know of anyone selling a Step side pick up that is not a basket case

A friend used to have a pretty solid shortie about that year that we put a later hood on and then he ended up selling it to someone else but the last time I saw it it still looked pretty solid and decent. 350 and compound fourspeed I think. We put the 3.72 Posi out of my 70 in it after I rolled the 70 in 1989. I've seen the truck running around once in a while and it doesn't look any different than when he had it. My dog wants to go for a ride this weekend anyhow so I'll go snoop and see if it is still where it used to be.

ok the deal is with my son he has to to have his grades up (which this semester he does) so he gets his drivers permit. the truck can come later.

but hes got his heart set on a 60-72 ( i know there two diff gens ) but he wants a short box & it doesnt matter if its a step or fleet.

We didn't make it over that way this weekend but If I don't take Harley for a decent ride next weekend he will probably chew up my best pair of boat shoes. The dog wasn't happy when we just went to town and back and didn't even stop at the farm supply for a pigs ear.

Not exactly cheap nor fully a project truck but it's pretty nice for the money.
