made some progress today, got the fuel tank installed in the back under the bed,had to move both of the x-members behind the rear axle, but its in now,i moved the rearmost member back a little then made a new one for the front of the tank as i didnt want the frame to flex back there. im happy with the results! its a 20 gallon tank from a late 70s K5 blazer

Looks great!! But I am curiouse. Was there a reason that you didn't go with the 21 gallon 69-72 Blazer, 67-72 Suburban tank? You wouldn't have had to move the crossmembers then. WES

Awwwww. I see! Are you sure that is only 20 gallons? It looks awfull large. My book shows 73-81 3-pipe tanks to be 21 gallon and 73-77 4-pipe Blazer tanks are 31 gallon.

I like the look of it. I will be watching this thread to see how the filler neck turns out. It doesn't look to be as tall as the 67-72 Suburban/Blazer Tank is either. The guys with lowered trucks might prefer it. WES

well i can run the filler out either side or out the back,as there arent any baffles in these tanks, and i would just rotate the sending unit around..gonna try for the back, should come out right under the tailgate, but not sure yet..

I kind of thought that looked like a problem. But I thought maybe you were running a roll pan. Have you given mutch thought to a behind the side marker filler? I have a write up on it in the "How To" section of our website. WES

well got the pass bedside, cowl and front bed panel stripped of the paint, and delivered to the painters for primer.started mocking up the fuel filler.need more parts for that...did some measuring for the rear wheels and tires, and due to the leaf springs im not gonna have as much tire as i originally thought.no worries that just makes them cheaper.dug ou the manual steering box from the shed in preperation for cleaning and install...nothing picture worthy today..
