pictures

OK. With all the new formatting of these boards, I'm clueless. Wes, you don't have to mention I've always been clueless, thank you!

Can someone tell me how to post pictures up to this board?

Thanks!

Dale, Now would I say you are clueless... :D :D LOL You can do it a couple of ways. You can upload them onto a picture hosting site, and post them the old way. Or you can look toward the bottom of your screen and click on the browse button in the attach file line. That way you can upload it directly to our boards. You are limited to your file size though and if your pictures are too large, shrink them down. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

The attatched images do use up a lot more space on the website than the images that are on a host site.
www.photobucket.com
http://picasa.google.com/
I have used Photobucket for several years and it is easy to use and post photos with Picasa may have a few more features but I haven't explored that yet.
I don't recomend the Kodak site (easy Share I think) because I haven't figured out how to use it to post photos to web sites or make them available to the general public like you can do with photobucket or picasa, The only thing that I can see using The Kodak Easy Share site for is for is for sharing family photos with family members or close friends who you can give the password to.

The other thing you can do with photobucket is just post the link for someone to click onto.
These photos were taken at the Run to Roslyn in Roslyn Wa in Aug 2005
Way to many photos to stick on a web site but easy to click on and view.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v4...YN%2005%20RUN/
or by clicking on IMG and copying and pasting you can display the photo on this website as long as you don't make changes to it on the host.
like this

Not mine by the way but nice even though I can't under the sunshade at a show, very distracting.

www.Photobucket.com seems to be the most dependable.. Easyshare keeps moving the img link leaving you without a posted photo after you thought you posted it?!

Does anybody know how to shrink an image in order to post it? I'm on a PC if that helps. I'm a novice/intermediate mechanic when it comes to working on my truck, but I am even more clueless when it comes to computers.

It depends on how up to date your software is and so on, but this may do it. With your mouse, right click on the picture. This should give you the option of "Open With". You can then open the picture with a selection of programs that your computer has. I have a HP printer, so I have HP software. So, I usually open the pic in HP Image Zone. But, whatever program you have will probably do something similar. In here it gives me the option to "Resize" the picture. This is where you can make it smaller. You can save it as a web image or whatever you want. In "preferences" I can shrink it even more if needed. It depends on the requirements of the message board. When done, you can "save as". Then you can give it a new name if you want, and put it into a different folder, if you want. Hope that helps. Hugh.

If you have the photos stored on Photobucket or one of the other hosts you can usually change the size of the photo.
That keeps you from having to change the size of the photo you have on your computer and lets you keep the quality if you want to have a photo printed.

I think most on the computer photo programs like photoshop will allow you to change the size of the photo. (I have the free version and like it.) I don't do a lot with it except crop photos but I really like it for that.

I use www.irfanview.com Download the software and you can re-size, turn, crop etc. It's a free software I have used for quite a few years now. I have a couple of software picture programs but I have found this to be the easiest for myself anyway.
