Wes, or anyone else, is there a replacement gear indicator (clear plastic piece) that includes an extra position for an Overdrive transmission?
My Cheyenne came from the previous owner with a 700R4. The shift linkage now works great, thanks to Longhorn Man's tips, but I was wondering if the new plastic piece is available. Also, is there anything else that needs to be done to the column to support the extra gear position?
Thanks,
Kent

Sorry, but I don't know of anyone producing a selector lens that has the extra possition for the overdrive. Are you able to get to all of your gears the way it is set up now? If so you could possibly make one yourself out of an old lens or something. Just an idea. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com (http://www.ClassicHeartbeat.com)

It shifts into all the gears. Park is a litle farther to the left and low is a little farther to the right, but it hits them all. Making a new lense may end up as the best option.
Thanks for the suggestion,
Kent

Hmmm, not quite sure, but if you look in the vans from the late 80's, early 90's, you might get licky. You may have to trim it...might not work at all.
I was just noticing they have similar indicaters the other day in the junk yard...but I didn't look close enough.
Let me know if you find a parts swat that will work.

Thanks for the tips!! http://classicheartbeat.com.westserver.net/ubb/smile.gif
I sent a request for more info to Ididit customer service. I am also going to check out my favorite salvage yard in the next couple of days to look at the van columns. I will keep you posted and maybe I can even figure out how to post a photo of the finished product. http://classicheartbeat.com.westserver.net/ubb/eek.gif

There was a 700r4 transmission place out of California that had some type of column conversion. Sorry I don't know more about it.
