jumping gas gauge

have a jumping gas gauge in a 1971 1/2 ton suberban. what should i replace to fix it.

It can either be guage,wiring or float assly in tank.Ohms thru your wiring of ok pull tank sending unit and ohms watching ohm reading closely to see if moves revelant to send unit if ok try guage..If this has circuit panel in dash have had seldom wiring broken in circuit..hope it helps
