According to my driveline shop, by pressing the carrier on and setting it with the tires hanging it shortened the wheelbase and the bearing held the front half of the driveline forward enough to jam the yoke in to the tranny to far. He had to pry and hammer the yoke to get it loose.

I allways have to pry mine away from the rear diff. to get it apart.You don't want it to loose or u will get vibrations and flying u-joints
