As we wanted to spend a bit more time In Port Orchard (nice marina) we cruised back down from Poulsbo on Sunday and caught the last couple of hours of The Cruz.

I saw a few nice trucks, some trucks with some really silly stuff on them.
Are rotating model cars sitting on the top of the air cleaners the new crybaby dolls?

I hate to feel this way but I can't really get into car/truck shows where I feel that I am not sure if I am at a car show or just walking through a used car lot or the parking lot. 2009 Chargers and Nisson Z's may be cool cars in their own right but they take up space that a real collector car could have been parked in. I'd much rather look at some school kids project truck and listen to him tell his plans than look at a Car fresh off the car lot on display similar to what it was on the car lot a few weeks before.

Here is a teaser

Really nice Rob. Some lovely pics you took. I see a nice Volvo 1800ES amongst them. I am currently restoring a 1970 Volvo Amazon and hope to have it back on the road soon. I know what you mean about the new cars at shows like this. I dont get it, whats the point? I was at a really good but small local show a couple of months ago. They limit it to pre 1985 vehicles, most of the cars were sixties to seventies. They man the gates and are pretty strict about it too. Proper order!

That little 1800ES was really slick and I have liked them since they were new. They are pretty rare here and the people who have them never seem to give them up.

I think the late model thing is mostly about numbers, meaning we had more cars at our show and took in more entry fees and in this show some of them probably belonged to local big wigs or their kids.

This show has one of the neatest locations of any show in the Northwest and there is plenty to do besides look at cars or sit in the lawn chair behind the car.

I love going to classic car shows. Although a lot of vintage shows here have old tractors on display as well. Not my thing..... The Volvo 1800 is the sporty version of the car I have. I recently got it home after a long respray. I am currently putting all the trim back on. Of course I had to bring it home with the Chev:

Looking forward to getting it back on the road.
