The truck club that I joined had a meeting this last Saturday, turned out to be car show, 'Show and Shine', hosted by the club at an annual celebration for a small local town. The club has being doing this for 5 years now. 'Working' for the show (I really didn't do much) I got to see some exceptional vehicles, club member rides included. I felt really out of place with all the members rides. Beautifully restored and customized trucks. Mostly late 40's to early 50's. It was a long day, 13 hours. But, it was great! I've got pictures and will try to get them available for anyone who cares to see later.
I tell ya, finding Wes & Classic Heartbeat, this forum and now the truck club, membership of around 130, together with being here in KC and having Chevy Duty, LMC Truck, Jim Carter's Antique Truck Parts and Manes Truck Parts all in such close proximity is really invaluable help for me, (and ya'll know I need it) in getting these trucks fixed up.
I also found out that the club holds it's meeting in Chevy Duty's showroom and I get a 10% members discount at all the above stores.
