Just got a new puppy. A new friend for our aging golden retriever; Jake and our troublesome terrier mutt; (Dirty) Harry. The pup is a Bernese Mountain Dog and we called him "Murphy". Black body, white head; couldnt resist it:biggrin: We just got him last Saturday and he is now about 8 weeks old. He will grow into a fine big dog, weighing about 50kg when fully grown. We have plenty of space and live near the beach so thats no problem. Any one else got some pets they would like to show?

This is one of my dogs Saylor (weener dog). I chose this picture because he is absolutely miserable in it. He likes to eat yellow jackets (hornets) and he gets stung in the mouth once in a while.. He is extreemly alergect (spell) and is all swollen up in the face, with welts all over his body... Every time he gets stung, we have to brake out the Benidrill, but it never stops him from eating them. WES

That's good.

Two dogs, two cats, 4 crazy roosters, I won't go so far to say Jean is a pet and the two kids are grown but still in the house at the moment.

Hey Rob, that dog of yours looks really nice. His markings are just the same as the Bernese that I got. Here is a pic I took of my 2 retrievers a couple of summers ago on the beach just down the road from where I live. Ben, the dog on the left, sadly had to be put to sleep last year as he got cancer. They were from the same litter and were never apart.

ok, See, Bill knows that I collect Tarantulas from all over the world, and He has them come into his shop and the covered areas during the rain storms. So bill found one that he figured I would like (Which I do, She is adorable) and sent her to me. We at first thought it was a He, then once I got it home and fattened up some I sexed it and Bill turned out to be a Billie. Beautiful Desert Blondie....Anphonopelma Chalcodes

Hugh, Do you have any Tarantulas in your backyard?? Just Kidding, It's against our Federal law to accept Tarantulas from any where in the U.K. area. Have no Idea why???

Hi Ron. The one thing about Ireland (apart from being wet) is that we do not have any creatures that can kill you! No bears or wolves (use to be a long time ago but hunted to extinction) no snakes (legend goes that St. Patrick got rid of them, but it has more to do with being a small island really:biggrin: ) and no big, hairy, scary spiders. Only the regular small ones. And hey, enough with the whole UK thing:rolleyes: We fought wars to get out of that one! lol.

Thats ok Ron. You could, and I am sure you would find it interesting, but it would be a bit depressing. 800 years of an oppressive colonialist regime will do that to any countries history. Oh, and throw in a couple of famines, a few failed rebellions and our land partitioned in to that mix and you see what I mean. Then again, we have had nearly ninety years of ruling ourselves, the "Troubles" in the Northern part of our country are over and after a few decades of mass emigration, high unemployment and being considered third world in some quarters, would you believe we are now (per head of capita) one of the richest countries in the world and have an immigration problem where people are trying to live and work here. I suppose it does make for an interesting story. Anyway, sorry about the rant, and I wasnt mad at you or anything like that, its just that, like most Irish people we are very proud of our identity. Oh, and I sure hope you will still advise me with my hei distributor swap:biggrin: lol.

Absolutely I will, Any way I can! and no offence taken or intended on my behalf, just ignorance here.

I know only what I have seen in some movies but then again movies are Hollywood dramatized so you do not know what's fact or fiction. But now you do have my interest up.dang,The underdog that won. I promise you will never hear or see my typing of the two countries together again.

Good man Ron. My, talking about going off on a tangent! This thread started out on pets:biggrin: I must say, I am facinated about the collection of pets that you have. Especially, the big spiders. What do you feed those guys on? And where do you keep them?

They eat Crickets and ****roaches. I buy the Crickets but raise the ****roaches.. When I built my Garage a couple of years ago I added a 26X16 FT. "Hobby Room" I am also into Radio Control Airplanes and Trucks. So the "T's" share the space. I buy for most of them Exoterra Glass cages, One of my Female Tarantula's gave birth to over 350 Spiderlings, I sold most of them on the Internet, I kept 5 or so for myself.

Here's a link to my Photobucket album for my Tarantula's. It shows their housing and the different species etc. There are still others that I want, it's just a matter of time finding and buying them.

 Wow! The thought of 350 of those little guys running around is just too much for me. I told my wife about it and the expression on her face was priceless. The pictures are amazing, but I think i will stick to walking the dog:biggrin:
