Today I got my 69 licensed. It started cutting out at about 60mph.So I decided to put new plugs and wires on.So I went and bought some wires and plugs.Well I bought a pack of 8 plugs and there was only 6.Autozone was already closed.

Then I decided to see if it was the carb. And my buddy broke an intake stud.So I spent 45 minutes try to drill it out.It is all screwed up now.So I am going to have to find a cheap 4 barrel intake tommorow.I am hoping my buddy has one.

Why can't anything ever go as planned?

I guess I am not alone. Just found a head gasket leaking, the problems of aluminum heads. Luckily it is leaking out the back corner and not into the oil

Well guys I wrenched on my truck for 13 hours today!

I got up at 10:30,swapped an intake off my 86 camaro with an LG4 305.I also used a holley 600cfm 4160 carb.I couldn't get that to run right all day long.I think it had something to do with the EGR blockoff job I did.So a freind of mine gave me a factory 4 barrel intake off 71 c-10.So I swapped that on there. That time I think I messed the timing up.I am going to start all over again on the timing tommorow.

As you can imagine I made up a few words today.I was sitting in it think I had just flooded the carb. When I look up and see smoke coming out from under the hood.I had a carb fire!It got the hood hot enough to make the paint flake up and turn brown. Now I got to sand the hood down and repaint.

A buddy of mine is selling me an HEI distrubitor friday.Hopefully that will help.

All this because off a carb stud!

Well I finnally got it to run today.I got the timing close. My stupid light wont work.So I am going to have to buy another one tommorow.

Here is what it is doing now.It wont start unless I choke it.Then it will fire for a sec then I have to unchoke it and it will start. This is very annoying.Really anoyying because it will die when slowing down.I am thinking the floats aren't set right. There is a guy in town that is really good with carbs I am going to have him rebuild it tommorow.I am also getting an HEI distrubitor tommorow to.Hopefully this will help also.I am so frustrated right now I can't belive it.I acctaully drove a 1/4 tank of gas through it.

I am thinking the carb needs rebuilt and I need some ignition work.Right now it is patheticly slow.I don't get it and I am getting tired of trying to get it.

Any help would be so so awesome!
