I have a 64 Chevy stepside, When I changed out the ign. switch there was a solid copper wire to the acc side of the switch that got hot. the volt meter dropped down to 10 volts when I turn on the heater. This harness has been messed with befor I Got it. No fuses got blowned. I did disconnect the heater and hooked to batt And it worked fine. Looking for answers, thanks

Hi 64Step
Welcome to the board From Nevada.
Get rid of that solid wire, Find where it leads (you already know where it originates) and remove it to the nearest garbage recepticle. Then once you find what it's supposed to operate (if that item is still there) replace the solid wire with stranded wire and go through the fuse box instead of a straight jump unless it goes to a HEI ignition. But it sounds as you may have a problem with whatever it hooks to as it's really drawing down your voltage.
