Hey Guys. I'm over here on the East coast. I'm trying to sell my 71 Chevy 1/2 ton truck. It is originally a 350/350 truck but I have installed a 77 Suburban 454, a built 700r4 transmission, and an Eaton Posi-traction unit with 4.56 gears. I almost never use the truck unless my car trailer is hooked to it so it is a guaranteed work-horse. I drove it in 3 legs of the 2006 Hot-Rod Power Tour and raced it at Old Bridge Raceway in New-Jersey (ran 14.8 in the 1/4) and raced a 67 GTO up I-81 on the way there posting a top speed (according to the guy in the GTO) of 138mph. Had it at the track again about 2 months ago and ran a 8.87 and an 8.86 in the 1/8th with a 1.799 and a 1.800 60ft time.
Engine is stock except for a towing / RV camshaft. Has headers, dual 2.5" exhaust, Flowmaster Delta-Flow 40 series mufflers, MSD pro-Billet distributor, MSD 6a box (no rev limiter), and 4th gear upshift valve in transmission (allows it to stay in OD while floored). I have installed a factory in-dash tach, aftermarket intermittent wipers, tilt wheel steering column, and a Mallory 140 electric fuel pump. Truck has custom padded door-panels that match the black seat. Truck is a factory A/C truck but most of the parts were removed before I got the truck. Engine has about 35,000 miles on it since rebuild (standard bore), transmission and rear have about 15,000 miles on them, and truck is coming up on 150,000 on the body. Has very rare Tool and Storage Compartment in the bed. NEEDS INSTALLED! I bought it from Wes about 2 years ago. Cab corners and cab supports are the worst part of the truck. Floor and rocker panels are secondary. VERY solid overall. Looks bad because it's 4 different colors but look closely...$5,500 obo.
I bought a suspension kit for it last year that still needs installed for $900. I will sell it with the truck for an extra $500. It has upper and lower ball-joints, pitman arm, drag link, front and rear polyurethane bushings, upper and lower control-arm bars, front sway-bar bushings, front and rear shocks, and front and rear springs (stock height). I bought EVERYTHING to repair ride quality to better-than-new.
I am only selling this truck because I bought a very nice original Texas truck. I have run synthetic oil and tranny fluid in it since installing everything and will guarantee a trouble-free trip home to anyone who buys it.
