I was at the junkyard yesteday and saw a 69 chevy pickup. The door panels, sunvisors, dash paneland glove box are in exellent condition.
My question is since my 72 GMC doen't have these items will the door & dash panels from the 69 fit my truck. Also my D/S window regulator is striped from the crank. Will the window regulator from 69 fit my 72?
There was also a 68 will all the interior but not in as good condition.
Thanks for the help

dash pad...bolt on
Door panel...kinda bolt on, kinda not
In '72, when tehy went to the big funny looking plastic door panels, they had to extend the reach of the shafts on the window crank and on the door handle.
If you install the '71 or older, the handles and cranks will stick out and look kinda funny. But it will bolt on and work.
As for the window regulaters...IMO, you may be better off getting a new one. I bought one that was perfect, but it took a crap on me, I have killed a total of 3 vintige 'perfect' regulaters.
you just never know when they will die on you.

longhorn man-
Thanks for the insight! the door panels from the 69 are in great shape but if handles are going to stick out I'd rather look for some panels from a 72. Maybe I'll by the ones from the 69 and sell them to someone else for their project. Hopefully they are still there! I'd hate to see them go to waste.
as far as the regulator I look into buying a new one.
Thanks,
Jesse

Well, as long as you are buying new regulators, just buy ones from the earlier years as they will have the shorter shafts. then you can use the panels from the 69 truck.

Great idea!! how ever I would like to keep it 72, at least the door panels. It would look and feel better at least for me that is.
Thanks,
Jesse

Let me know if you find new '72 panels that fit correctly. According to Wes, only one company makes them and they come up about 1/2" short. That doesn't work for me. Maybe by the time I'm ready to do my interior, someone will make them correctly.

Damm! I was looking into the new panels, but if they are going to be short. I might as well try to find some good used ones.
This is not making my parts finding any easier.
Thanks for the heads up!
