I am just beginning a restoration of a 70 C10, and will be replacing some body parts (rust/rot). There are a wide variety of parts available, at a wide variety of prices (for the same part!) I am aware that there are some differences in quality, but what specifically should I be concerned about? Gauge? Steel carbon content (rust resistance)?
Any assistance and education would be helpful.
You want to be carefull of where you get your parts. Take the time to get to know the dealer and what he has to offer. Remember, you get what you pay for most times. We offer (in my opinion) the best of both worlds, and stand behind everything that we sell. Great parts at the best possible price. We use all of our parts that we sell, so in most cases we can report on the quallity. Ultimetly you would like to get parts that meet or exeed the thickness of the originals, and in most cases that is possible. However there are a few out there that are thicker than originals, and some that are thinner. Some of our parts are zink coated for better rust protection that the factory didn't even offer. Feel free to call us toll free 888-338-2502 to disguss your parts needs. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
