Have 68 swb without a/c, have 72 factory a/c setup (except a dash) What is the difference in an a/c dash and a non a/c dash? (besides the holes for the vents) can I cut holes in a non a/c dash for vents or do I need to install a different dash? (I have a 69 longhorn with a/c and the look very simular).
Thanks for any help that you can give

Other than the vents, they are the same.
You should be warned that the fire wall is not the same though.
Longhorns rule...don't they? http://classicheartbeat.com.westserver.net/ubb/wink.gif

Also, there is a different control unit. One more lever and cable to a box that directs the air either through the heater core for heat or around the heater core for AC. And another section for the tubes to the AC vents. The blower motor is a different model too. The glove box is also different.
If I had it to do again though, I'd by Vintage Air, they've got a complete retro fit system for these trucks.

Even though i have never doen either route, i would have to go aftermarket too on anything but a complete 100 point resto. Although, i would use an A/C dash and use the original style A/C vents, at least it'd look cool.

Thanks for all the help
I am doing a complete resto of the 68 swb, I have all the a/c parts out of a 72 truck (a/c control, all the duct work under the dash, a/c heater a/c box all the under the hood hose a/c pump, condenser, vaccum components, glove box
all the components worked when they came out of the truck. Can I pull out all of my non a/c components and put in all of the a/c components, cut the a/c vents into the dash and have a factory looking working a/c truck.
Longhorn man you said the firewalls were different, do I have to change or modify anything to make it fit. I have my 69 longhorn truck to use as a guide. (longhorns do rule)
Thanks again for all the help
