The cooling unit in front of the AC condenser held up by the 2 straps, is it for the tranny?

I got all this stuff at the salvage yard today for $50.

It all needs to be cleaned real good, but if the condenser still works I think it was worth it. The new U-joint was under the seat.

Yes...more likely than not, that is for the tranny. Follow the hoses on it and see where they take you.
