I was shocked and amazed when i scrapped the Pontiac 350 that was in my Longhorn the other day. When I went over the scales, I discovered what my truck actually weighs.
This is of my '69 GMC Short/Fleet. Nothing special..350 with alluminum intake and full headers, 9both MUCH lighter than stock manifolds) A short shaft TH350...just typical stuff. No A/C even.
There were a few essentials, like a small bottle jack under the seat, and a full size spare on a 'wagon wheel' rim. I got out of the truck, and it had exactly a 1/2 tank of fuel in the tank...

So, have you weighed your rig, and what was the figures?

I've been dubbed the Longhorn Freak/Fanatic/Expert, I just hope I can live up to it.

So the motor weight was 660lbs What was all on the motor. Was it just a motor or other stuff. Someone asked me the other day how much a 350 motor weighted. Pontiac should be real close to Chevy

It was the motor minus starter, a set of rotors off a lincoln, a torque converter (yes..it was full, there yard is already real bad, but it was still wrong), and a window regulater.
I think a complete all iron Chevy 350 is supposed to be in the 550 range.
