I know I am getting the cart before the horse, because I have a lot of work to do before I drive my truck. This stuff is addicting, and unfortunatly the great Iowa snow will be coming before I like. Now to the question I am putting a 350/TH350 (long tail section) in my short box wondering if there is a junkyard drive shaft that will pop right in. If so out of what? the cab on my truck is a 67 but the frame is a 71. If there is a junkyard driveshaft that will work I would like to find it before the white stuff gets here.
The driveline will measure 58" from center of the front yoke to the center of the rear yoke. So if the wrecking yards around your place are like the ones around here, they will have a pile of drivelines to choose from... Take a tape measure.. ands also you can go get Ujoints from places like NAPA that have different sized caps on opposite side of the joint, so even if the driveshaft you find is a ford or dodge one you can stil use it with a conversion joint and swap on a th350 GM yoke
good luck

Depending on which motor mount holes on the frame you used, will determain the length of your driveline. My driveline measures approx. 68" and is from a Dodge, BAD WORD, van.The best way to measure is to put a yoke on the tranny and measure center to center minus a 1/4 to 1/2" for flex.
