Last time I was in contact with a set of those was in the 70s, at a car/truck show at the coliseum in Spokane, I was putting them on as the show was ready to open, The chromers were late in finishing them. It was on a 64 short wide bed.. Wonder where that truck is today??? Heck, Maybe your scrap pile Wes.....:(

I have a set on my 68 SWB and they look super nice. They make the other chrome goodies stand out! I would say, buy a set, you won't regret it (Unless you go broke doing it, lose your job, your better half gets mad, Or you already have a set!)!

How would brake fluid react on those babies? Would it eat right thru the coating like it does to paint? I've learned to put a rag under the master cyl. when bleeding or otherwise messing around with the brakes.

It will effect these like it will on any chrome. It shouldn't bother it, at least not in the amount of time that it takes to clean up the mess. Brake fluid doesn't harm steel so there isn't any reason that it would harm chrome plating. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Is the wheel side of those chrome also. Any one have pics of the wheel wells on a truck? Kinda wondering if it's to flashy from the outside by the wheel

Just sold a set out of my shop today. They have chrome on the back side, but they feel like they were sand blasted either before the chroming or after and a paint was applied to the under side. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
