The 67-70 Chevy and 67-72 GMC (2 wheel drive)all used the same front bumper brackets and the 67-70 Chevy and 67-72 GMC (4 wheel drive)all used the same front bumper brackets. The 4 wheel drive bumper brackets are different than the 2 wheel drive brackets though. The same goes for the 2 wheel drive 71-72 Chevy and 4 wheel drives. All of the 2 wheel drive front bumper brackets are being reproduced, but the 4 wheel drive ones are not. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com (http://www.ClassicHeartbeat.com)

Well what truck do you have? Year? Is it a 2 wheel drive? 4 wheel drive? Was it converted? WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com (http://www.ClassicHeartbeat.com)

What it sounds like is maybe you have a 71 or 72 Chevy or at least that bumper. Does it have the turn signals in the front bumper? If so you may have 67-70 Chev/67-72 GMC front bumper brackets, which are shorter than the 71-72 Chevy. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com (http://www.ClassicHeartbeat.com)

Well it is possable you have the 4 wheel drive brackets and not the 2 wheel drive brackets then. Is your truck a 4X4 or 2X4 and what did the brackets come off of? Got any pictures you can e-mail me? WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com (http://www.ClassicHeartbeat.com)

Hmmmm.. I need to see some pictures. Something sounds wrong and it could be the bumper. Have you tried fitting the bumper with the brackets loose? WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com (http://www.ClassicHeartbeat.com)

i wish i could send you some pics but don't have a cam the brackets bolt up to the bumper but then they don't bolt up to th frame. i am stumped

How far away from the frame are the brackets? Does the bumper follow the contour of the front end? Or does it look like the ends of the bumper move away from the truck? I have seen that with my 68 swb stepside and it turned out that the truck had been wrecked in the front so things didn't line up correctly. I had to pull the ends of the bummper in toward the truck and bolt the brackets then. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com (http://www.ClassicHeartbeat.com)

the bumper fits the contour of the truck
the brackets are about 8 in short

Well there is only one thing left to do and that is set the bumpers side by side... The old one and the new one... There is something major screwed up there... Either someone has cut your brackets or you have a wrong bumper.... 8" is a long ways off for it to be anything else. If it was the right bumper and right bumper brackets, you might have to pull 1/2" or so but not 8". Once again I need pictures of the bumper and the brackets to be able to tell you the problem.
