View Full Version : Looking for idiot gauges

I'm looking for a set of idiot light gauges (the speedo/gas gauge only set). I need the assembly minus the actual plastic instrument panel bezel... so, just the gauges and the clear plastic lens over them.

I'm looking for reasonably clean and functional gauges. I'm trying to put together the dash on a second cab I'm doing work on before I swap out cabs on the truck (to reduce downtime for the daily driver truck). Because, when I'm done, I'll have a "spare" set of gauges that are currently in the truck, I can't really justify spending much money on them (besides the fact that my wife is railing on me pretty hard lately about truck expenditures :( ), I'm looking for something ultra-cheap... since these are idiot gauges, I'm guessing most people consider them junk.

If you've got one of these that fits the bill, please let me know.

Thanks,

Kenneth

I have one out of my 67 panel that I would sell for $15.00 plus shipping. The speedometer needle is a little faded, but the fuel gauge looks great. Let me know. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Thanks for the offer. It looks like I've found a fully functional donation elsewhere... can't beat that! If it ends up being worse than described, I'll check back with you on yours.

OK all, I'm looking for one of these again... but this time I also need a decent bezel to go with it. Bezel can be "unattractive" so long as it is free from cracks.

PM me with price including shipping to 67230.

Have you found one yet? Any certain year you want I have a decent 69-72. Free, pay shipping which will run you $7.50

Bill, thanks for digging. I _think_ I've got one lined up, but if that falls through I'll give you a shout. As for year, it doesn't matter to me... as the gauges are temporary and the bezel is going to get done over (here's a shot of the last one)...

Thanks! Updates? What are those? :(

I'm finally relocated and have a large garage to work in. Now if I can just get some free time. I've actually started some repair work on the rolled pan. 4 years in MA and a little neglect on my part requires some fixes. I've got it pulled off and stripped. And now I'm going to redo the light cans ad then squirt paint on it before I reinstall it.

How's your project coming?

At least you have your own garage to work in. :D I'm sure your project will be done in no time...who needs sleep anyway. lol.

As for my project, let's just say I'm still working on April. It's going good though. I just put together my drop spindle and disks together. I'm having someone press my lower ball joints in so hopefully (crossing fingers) I can get the assembly put on the truck by the end of the month. I'm moving to my fiance's house and moving is taking up alot of my time. I still won't have my own garage though, but at least the rent is cheaper!

Again, good to see that you are still in the game!
