Ok, I have mentioned this in the past, but never posted pics nor 100% describbed it...so here goes;
Here is my GMC VIn tag...completly unlike any other truck i have looked at, was it a GMC thing?

But here is my real question though....
The VIN tag in the blue door jamb is from my old 70 3/4 ton longhorn, while the gold door jamb is the '70 one ton Longhorn...both are 1970, but the VIN tags are totally differant.

The only thing I have seen to support one over the other, is this picture;

Which was on a '71 one ton...the continuity here is the one tons both have painted print on the tag....
So which VIN tag does your ride have?

------------------
'69 G.M.C. (http://geocities.com/andys_69_gmc/) 350/350 and a heluva cam. Still trying to clean up the left over damage from the Dope-Smokin-Old-Man.
The 1970 One ton Longhorn (one of only 1404 built) with only a TH350...soon to be CADDY powered and a TH350.

And now...another site. The caddy swap page (http://geocities.com/caddyoneton/) is under construction!

On my 67 the the tag looks like the first pic and it reads 'Chevrolet Truck' where yours shows GMC. But, there is only one tag. On my 71 the tag looks like the second pic. Both trucks are 1/2 ton.

The tag on my '72 3/4 ton Cheyenne is like the one you have on the gold door jamb, the print being in blue ink and the numbers stamped.
