Just wanted to let those of you who have been on the board for a while know that I had my six month check-up yesterday, and the doctor thinks that cancer may not kill me. Seems that so far, there is no evedince of any cancer, although I have to wait this week for the results of one test.

Next week we get to start the fun one. So much nerve damage that I'm living a celibate life. Now we're going to teach me how to give myself a shot, ahmmm, yes, there. I'm not sure if I'm wild about this idea or not...

Regardless, it looks like my wife will kill me before the cancer, and it was Wes who led me astray by selling parts for this old truck I have....

Wow good news about the big C, glad to hear it Dale. As for the part about the wife, I am in the same boat only it is my hubby, all we have to think about is maybe they will be happy when the project is done, see the work, we have done, and the good use we put the trucks to----ya right-----LOL

Great news Dale.
I just got word from my mom today that a buddy of mine was declared brain dead yesterday. Second friend lost to brain cancer in two years. Makes hearing your news so great.
Stay well my friend and Keep on Truckin!

Well I'll gladly take the blame for selling you a few parts, if it helped you to keep your mind off the problems you were having... Just warn me befor your wife comes looking for me with a club in her hands...LOL I hope you continue to get better and better, then I can expect that you will drive your truck over here to show it to me. About the shot Dale, Whats a shot going to hurt, when the rewards for doing it far outway the little pain..... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com (http://www.ClassicHeartbeat.com)

Good point on the shot Wes, but I don't know if I could do it either...I hate needles. http://classicheartbeat.com.westserver.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
Great to hear you are doing OK, it's a long path to full recovery, put it sounds like your headed in the right direction though. ^5.

Well, The doc did the shot this week. Works, but it's an experience!! I get to try giving myself a shot in a few weeks. Suppose it's no worse than being a diabetic, but I doubt any diabetic is giving themselves a shot in that particular location!

Having been a diabetic for over 20 years I know a lot about shots. Give myself one twice a day. Give them around my stomach or legs or arms etc. Talk about being a human pin cushion!!

GJORGENSEN,
I guess my complaint is a whine about having to give myself a shot in the short-arm. I have to ask, do you ever get used to giving youself a shot? I got used to catheterizing myself after 6 months, but can't convince myself regarding the shot yet.

I got used to it fairly fast to tell the truth. Surprising what you will do when you have to. It is just an automatic annoyance anymore. It is a real nusiance when I have to travel and find someplace to do the shot. Not something I do in public and you don't want people to think you are a junkie.
