I saw a post on here about cleaning up chrome using foil and vinegar, a reply also said coke would work. Thinking that it might be the acid in those products I thought I'd try Pledge with orange oil...

What do you think?

So, if you wanted to remove paint from metal or cast iron. What would you use?

How about oven cleaner?

I used oven cleaner on the left and paint stripper on the right. The oven cleaner worked but will take a lot more applications and a lot more scrapping.

Alternator bracket, no before pic, but I took it right off the alternator, right off the truck and cleaned it with oven cleaner.

I use zip strip. Then again if it's a small part you can take off paint, chrome, or even bluing like a gun finish by immersing it in vinegar.

beleive it or not...brake fluid will remove paint!!let it set up and watch it work. Make sure you clean the piece before you paint it though...
