Well the old burb made another 4000 mile round trip from Phx to Chicago and back. Again, no problems and 15 mpg. Who needs a $40,000+ new burb http://classicheartbeat.com.westserver.net/ubb/smile.gif

The new steering gear, sway bar and wider tires sure made the trip a pleasure. I never have felt such control going down the mountains from Flagstaff to Phoenix.

Up for 40 hours straight, 1700 miles under my belt, 4 am in the morning and I am cruising down the steep mountains at 90 mph! http://classicheartbeat.com.westserver.net/ubb/wink.gif

I used to do stuff like that until I rolled a brand new beretta at 100mph that really slowed me down. now I don't drive when im tired anymore http://classicheartbeat.com.westserver.net/ubb/smile.gif

Hey Chris!!
90 MPH down a mountain?!!!? with no DISC BRAKES?? LOL , Glad you made it home!

You havent found a 67 short 4x4 for me yet have you? The 67 is still setting where "crews" dropped it in the yard. My 72 has been giving me "fits" again! After tearing the heads off of it about a month ago to put new valve springs on, now the cam decides to go flat!! Thanks to a friend ,we should have her back on the road Wed night.
Talk to you later , Steve

Steve, you have to love those drum brakes! How about a 68 Short Step 4x4? http://classicheartbeat.com.westserver.net/ubb/tongue.gif I will send out that 67 overhaul manual later this week. Don't worry about payment. The cover is dirty and a little warn, but the reading is still good http://classicheartbeat.com.westserver.net/ubb/smile.gif
