Heya Wes are those rear fenders offered new
or as aftermarket parts or only what you have in your parts yard?
LMC truck shows the fenders but isn't darkened and has no part numbers.
the fenders themselves are good on my truck, it's just the lip that bolts to the bed that is rusted out all along the edges. Anyone know of a repair that you can do to these?
thought of getting some metal from work and forming it to fit, then either welding it on or riveting it. Anyone tried this?

The length of the bed doesn't matter the fenders are the same. The stepside fenders that i have are origanals removed from old beds. They as of yet are not offered new in metal. US body soarce has them new in fiberglass though. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com (http://www.ClassicHeartbeat.com)

I have just done that repair on my "modsteration", I went the the local LOWE"S and bought 4ft lengths of 1/8" x 3/4" flat steel stock, cut it to length, tack welded in place, ground the welds, drilled the holes from the bottom side (through the originals for perfect location), and finished off with quality seam sealer. Looks great.

I found those fenders Wes was talking about costing around $269.00 or so for the fiberglass ones.
Wife just gave me that look so now gonna try to repair them on my own. Since the lip is the only thing rusted and one dent in bottom of fender I got some 2in leg L angle from work and am making new brackets for each bolt.
Hope this is gonna work since body shop said it wasn't worth fixing it.

i started a first time bondo/sand/primer paint job on my truck cab this week. i was looking at my fenders and fron and bed sides. I also have the same problem with my frnders. beyond that my truck belonged to autoclore inc. in seattle hauling metal eating clorine. i have the 9' long stepside truck and i am afraid if i disassemble the bed to paint behind the cab it will not go back together. can anyone offer any ideas?

You can always just remove the bed as one whole piece. One thing I like about stepsides is that you can take the entire bed apart into pieces, or as one whole piece.
