OK, the body man took the truck apart. I am putting it together. Set to do front fenders today (outer) had them close to fitting then remembered those fender to cab seals. Can't figure them out. The assembly manual is no help. Anyone able to show or tell?

Sorry Dale my knowledge about these trucks is way under novice, just wanted to answer you to take the question to the top, to see if some one would help you.
Here is a couple of pictures to show a set mounted on the cab. They are old and torn but hopefully you can tell how they are mounted. You have to wire them down to your origanal brackets if I remember right.

I got an email from Wes on this later. he noted that the old GMC he had around didn't have the seals on it. My question of you GMC owners is do you have the fender to cab seals? Thanks!

My 67 GMC does not have seals. I get a lot of heat inside the cab so maybe it is supposed to have them. Then again I do live in Texas so I guess I really don't know.

Gee to bad we cant ask some one who actually built these trucks if they had, or do need the seal. Maybe some of the more in the know people can help all of us out.
The cab seals were first put on these trucks in 1971 and it might be that they were only put on the Chevrolets. I have seen several chevy's with them, but thinking back I have never seen a GMC with them. I just figured that was because I haven't ever parted a Sierra Grande... thanks for the info Wes, knew you would come through---LOL
So if the trucks didnt have the seal, guess it would be up to the owner to see if they could use them, and install.
Yup! They can be mounted to any of these trucks, you just need to be creative...LOL I will have them on all of my trucks to cut down on the heat and dust coming in from the engine compartment. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com (http://www.ClassicHeartbeat.com)
