Heya all
Got the new V8 in my 68 and right away had wiring problems, no power to inside the truck
we could still start the truck by going straight from the starter with a screwdriver but the key had to be on. I changed some wiring around to how I thought it came off of the old inline 6 but I noticed smoke right away and the harness on the firewall burned up. Was told after that that the 6 harness wouldn't work on a V8.
Took a look at the wiring harness that Wes has for sale for $69.95 but wasn't sure if I also need to replace the harness inside the dash as well.

Any help would be nice.

The origanal harness under the dash should be OK unless it was damaged in the same incedent. All you should need is the engine harness. I would concider getting one that has allready been converted to HEI, then if you haven't installed an HEI distributer do that also. Thats just a suggestion though... Thanks Wes
The engine is out of a 77 and I just got the replacement distributor for it. Not really sure what is HEI and what isn't. Usually left the engine work to others and I just did body work.
Is the harness you have for sale for 68and 69
V8s set up for HEI?
