just swapped for an edelbrock intake for my 70 chevy.
any tips on best gasket, sealant, etc...
I have not done much work on cars in about 8 years.

Don't put much torque on the bolts...time to recalibrate your arm. The outer bolts (at the 4 corners) are the real important ones. Also, get some steel washers to slip under the bolts.
I always use the rubber end seals, never had a problem using them...only hage problems when I don't use them. But I'm in the minority on that.

I put a little sillycone (black)on both sides of the seals on the ends and alittle in each corner where the end seals overlap the head intake seal.Then tighten from the center out working clockwise.

Edelbrock reccomends using "printoseal" style gaskets. I have heard of sealing problems, when a different style gasket was used. Fel Pro, and others make printoseal style gaskets, this style gasket has a raised bead imbossed into the face of the gasket.
