I am having a real problem with my truck...Some of you from the other board have heard this already, but time to tap everyone for assistance. I have been tring to remove the original steering wheel from my 70.

Yes the main nut is removed and the horn stuff. I have broken one wheel puller (cheapo one)I have soaked it in WD40, PB Blast, heated it up. Even drove it with the nut loose.

AND IT DON'T BUDGE.

I got a good wheel puller and had grad 8 bolts to put in the wheel to pull it. The only thing I accomplished is smashing down the main shaft and damagaging the threads (repairable I think..if the wheel is off) and it stripped the threads on the grade 8 bolts and those in the wheel. So Now I have nothing to grab that way.

Tried a 3 prong gear puller and all I did was mess up the plastic of the wheel. I then had very serios discussion with it as I BEAT IT to get it off.

It seems like super glue extrorinare was used on this thing.

Anyways...any suggestions...or should I just get another column?

I think I would be looking myself.
Do you need to retain the shifter on there?
I have access to a 4 speed non-tilt one here that i can get my hands on for $40...dunno what shipping would cost...
